SEGS
staff takes every precaution to protect and handle coins in a
professional manner and promises to exercise reasonable care.
If damage or loss occurs to a coin while in the possession of
SEGS. SEGS will compensate or replace the coin at its option,
based on current market value and/or documentation
establishing value. SEGS assumes no responsibility or
liability, however for coins outside the immediate control and
possession of SEGS employees or it's insured carriers.
SEGS will encapsulate coins that have certain
"problem" conditions and meet certain criteria as
set forth by SEGS. These coins will be accompanied by our
normal label and will be identifiable by a small star symbol
located on the extreme mid right of the SEGS label accompanied
by written descriptive of the coin's particular problem (s).
If SEGS determines (at its sole discretion), that the criteria
for encapsulation are not met (examples: added mint marks,
counterfeits, etc.), the customer will be issued a
confidential finding report and an in-house credit voucher,
less the cost of materials and labor incurred. The decision to
issue credit vouchers is at the sole discretion of SEGS and
may not apply when fees paid are "special" rates.
SEGS reserves the right to refuse to encapsulate, grade,
designate, or authenticate any coin, medal, or token
regardless of condition.
The grades, designations, and authentication assigned to coins
by the SEGS numismatic staff are the result of practical,
applied, working knowledge representing years of experience
among professionals in a dynamic market. Neither SEGS nor any
of its employees nor any of its consultants assume liability,
express or implied, for grades, designations, or
authentication assigned to a coin other than the customer's
right to have the coin re-examined by SEGS within a six month
period.. After six months have passed, SEGS assumes no
liability. SEGS assumes no responsibility or liability for
typographical errors listed on the SEGS label other than the
customers right to have the label replaced with a corrected
label. There is no fee for label corrections and any shipping
and insurance costs incurred by the customer are fully
refunded.
The customer acknowledges and agrees that crossover service
(S-6) requires the removal of the coin from the original
capsule. (See SEGS Services explanation: S-6)
SEGS customers acknowledge all service fees are in addition to
and do not include postage, shipping, and insurance. SEGS
customers agree to provide actual "Owner's Declared
Value" to SEGS to facilitate reimbursement by carrier or
private insurance necessitated by loss or damage. The SEGS
customer agrees not to overvalue or undervalue coins listed on
SEGS submittal invoices. Customer also acknowledges that
failure to provide "Owner's Declared Value" on the
SEGS submittal invoice will delay the return shipment of such
merchandise, regardless of the type of service requested, or
fees paid SEGS.
